Greetings to the vast middle American wasteland!

I am enclosing a "formal" invitation, preliminary outline of the 
conference topics and agenda, a tentative schedule of 
deadlines  and a list of questions.
The draft for the "call for papers" is under construction and may or
may not make this mailing; any suggestions you have would be most
appreciated.

Some of the information is out of date: August 24-27 looks solid
and Stanford will be able to supply facilities unless a major construction
project screws things up. However in that case we can get the University of
Santa Clara.
